Oh well, that would be me then, Sebastian from Youtube channel “MRTV”.

Video reviews of XR hardware are great but nothing compares to checking out the devices for yourself. Every person is different and XR hardware must be experienced in person.

Since it is nearly impossible to get product demos in stores I was thinking about how we as a community could still make it happen. And I believe that trymytech can be the solution!

No, this website is not finished yet. You are looking at the very first version of it. So not everything is perfectly finished and you might come across a bug or two. We are still in beta!

So if you find something that’s off or needs improvement, please let us know!

We are starting with the United States, the UK and Germany to find out if you are as excited about this as we hope for. If you love the idea and could see yourself opening up an experience location yourself in the future, please sign up for the mailinglist here. In the sunrise phase invitations to join will be sent to the the members of this mailinglist. So if you want to be part of this, join now!

If you are not living in one of the launch countries, well, that sucks! But we do want to bring this to as many countries as possible soon. To decide which countries to serve next, you must tell us where you want us to go! And you can do so by joining the waiting list here. So vote for your country and see you there soon!

We built this site to solve one of the XR industry’s biggest problems: not being able to try out the devices anywhere before buying them. So we are laser focused on XR devices for now: VR and AR headsets, VR treadmills,  XR accessories like haptic vests etc. We are starting with a couple of companies that we are working  with. You can find their supported products here.

If you are a hardware company and would like to work with trymytech to build a network of superfans that showcase your tech, please get in touch!

If you invite your guests home or to your office space, of course it should be presentable. We will also ask you to provide a video introduction for your guests in which you show your space and introduce yourself.

For certain products you may decide to hold your product demo at a public space though, like in a Starbucks. A good example might be small AR glasses that you could also demonstrate in these kind of locations. We are totally fine with that as well.

This is the very beginning of trymytech. The sunrise phase. In this phase you cannot directly sign up on the website but must wait for an invitation via email. First come first serve, so make sure to join the mailinglist now! If you are not living in one of the launch countries, put yourself on the waitinglist, you also vote for your country to be the next in line doing so.

It is totally up to you how much you charge for a session, how many people could attend it and how long it would run. We would suggest not to charge too much but instead offer more experiences and open up each session to multiple attendees if your location allows for it.

I have run the “MRTV Experience” where people could try out VR headsets in my office. It was always fully booked. It makes sense especially for expensive devices. There is a real need to try out VR headsets before buying them.

Moreover, we are working together with the headset manufacturers to refund the fees if guests actually buy the devices they check out. We will do that via coupon codes that hosts will be supplied with. Companies might even give customers better deals than if they bought without having tried out the devices, because return rates will be much lower for these customers.

There is no fee for putting up your experience on the website. We finance this service by charging a platform fee of 20% for each experience.

If you buy the device you want to demonstrate directly from our hardware partners using the “trymytech” code, there might be significant discounts to both hardware and accessories! So do check this out before you buy the hardware!
